Project Profile: Conway Hall - Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church

Project Size: 21,268 sq. ft.              

Location: Orlando, FL

Objective: 
Initially starting out as a Master Planning effort for the Long Range Planning Committee, the church experienced an unanticipated growth and moved quickly forward to a Design-Build bid to include a new preschool, multi-purpose room with gym and locker rooms, new youth classrooms, and a new commercial kitchen and reception.

Project Approach: 
Over 29 studies were conducted for the Long Range Planning committee reviewing options for location of expanding existing buildings, allocating space for future development.

Conway Hall
Met with multiple sub-committees as identified by the church to gather programming criteria. Extensive as-built efforts of existing kitchen for improvements. The following needs were addressed: A quality reception hall plus 1st rate kitchen; gym/sports area for large dinners to better serve church and community; a youth room with elbow-room to be exuberant with unobtrusive access to each area. Worked with committee to present to church’s board as well as congregation. ICI and civil engineer worked together to provide all Conditional Use Permitting documentation. Project was design-build delivery. Passive Sustainable design used to conserve energy and provide user flexibility with insulated concrete form walls used on perimeter walls, zoned HVAC, daylighting, and multiple-circuit lighting.
